Foreign Nationals Arriving from China
Are Subject to COVID-19 Tests

The Israeli National COVID-19 headquarters
decided to order foreign airlines to board foreign citizens on flights from
China to Israel subject to a Covid-19 test. In addition, the passengers must have
health insurance to cover COVID-19 expenses.

The order is effective immediately.
|
|
|
|
2023: Minimum Prevailing Wage for Foreign Experts Increased
|
|
Effective January 1, 2023, the minimum monthly prevailing wage for foreign national experts has increased to NIS 23,460, up twelve percent (12%) from last year.
|
|
|
|
- Initial and renewal applications. Employers of foreign national experts seeking to obtain or renew a work permit on or after January 1, 2023, must increase the foreign national’s minimum salary to comply with the new rule.
- Pending applications. Employers of foreign national experts with pending work permit applications as of January 1, 2023, must increase the foreign national’s minimum salary to comply with the new rule.
- Immigration applications that do not meet the minimum salary will be rejected.

Increase in Government Fees for Working Visa in 2023
|

The Ministry of Interior published the list of government fees for 2023 reflecting an increase from 2022.

Israeli Passport: New Immigrants Are Now
Required to Settle in Israel
|
|
The New Minister of Interior and Health, Mr. Aryeh Deri, instructed the
Population and Immigration Authority to amend the passport law to state that
anyone who immigrates to Israel will have to prove that he has settled in the
country and only then will he be able to receive a passport, as used to be the
case prior to 2017.

|
|
The instructions will be implemented soon and aim to put a stop to the
alleged abuse of the regulations, in cases where new immigrants arrived in
Israel without the intention of settling and immediately left Israel upon
receiving the Israeli passport.
The order is effective immediately. The
duration of the required settling in Israel was not advised yet.

New Bill Proposal:
Israel Basic Law: Immigration
|
|
The new government’s coalition agreements
between the Likud and Religious Zionism and Jewish Power stipulate that the new
government will promote the enacting of the proposed Basic Law: Immigration.
This law, in a few versions, was already dropped twice by previous governments.

|
